I have spent my life constructing a big picture in my head.
This picture was born in a struggle to understand myself and the world. Or perhaps, more candidly, to find a better way to engage with a world that felt overwhelming and intrusive (hello fellow 5s đ).
This picture was not just written in words or captured in ideas; it was shaped through experience and tended to through practice. Itâs a living viewâsomething enacted, not just understood.
It started taking shape a long time ago as a political and counter-cultural protest against the injustice and inequality I saw around me. It morphed into a contemplative journey, focusing on enlightenment and the end of suffering. I also had a passion for philosophy & the pursuit of wisdom. Then there was the awkward tumble towards authenticity, through writing and rebuilding myself in times of crisis.
This attitude has grown into something that has helped me feel more alive, awake and at home in this world than I thought possible.
I call it Full-Contact Living, and Iâm going to be writing a lot more about it.
âScience is not enough, religion is not enough, art is not enough, politics and economics is not enough, nor is love, nor is duty, nor is action however disinterested, nor, however sublime, is contemplation. Nothing short of everything will really do.â â Aldous Huxley
