3 years ago, I was in a bad place. I was depressed, I’d worked myself into the ground, and I thought I was leaving Tech for good.
I started again from scratch—this time rebuilding from meaning, not metrics. That path led me to coaching.
At first, I coached anyone who needed help, from yoga teachers to YouTubers.
But over time, a pattern emerged: engineers, product people and founders kept showing up at my door.
They didn’t just want a coach—they wanted someone who’d been in the fire.
🚀 Someone who’s built teams and scaled products.
📉 Someone who’s been through the highs and lows.
🤓 Someone who knows what it’s like to be smart, capable and stuck.
I realised that Tech is full of smart people stuck in loops. Brilliant engineers burning out. Product leads paralysed by overthinking. Founders waking up at 3 a.m. wondering if they’re the bottleneck.
I know, because I was one of them.
Still, I resisted picking a lane. But I couldn’t deny that being able to talk PRs, MVPs and OKRs was a big help in appreciating what people were going through. And I relished supporting the self-driven, ambitious and creative people who make Tech their home.
🥁 So… I’ve been busy rebranding my coaching practice to work exclusively with folks in Tech to offer something unique: pairing modern, transformational coaching with two decades in the trenches.
✨ This is day one. The site is live: TheTechCoach.io ✨
👨🏼💻 The Tech Coach is for engineers, leaders, and technical founders who are tired of white-knuckling work and want to find smarter, more meaningful ways forward.
I get to see lightbulbs coming on for people every week. It’s such a joy to guide folks through the practices and perspectives that supercharge their purpose and impact.
Comparing how I felt three years ago with the excitement and pride that I feel typing this today makes me feel unfathomably grateful and like someone’s chainsawing through onions downstairs. A huge, heartfelt thank you to all the people who have played their little and not-so-little roles along the way.
If there’s a geek in your life you think might be interested, please pass this on to them.
Thank you!
